I still remember the moment. 

It was a beautiful summer day and school holidays had just begun. That morning, I awoke to one of the most magical sounds I had ever heard radiating from my parent's bedroom. It was the voice of a woman singing. When I walked into their room, my parents were watching a movie on TV and there was a lady singing in the film. 

I didn't know who she was, but I was struck by her style, beauty and natural charisma. "Who is that?" I asked my parents. They told me her name. It was Audrey Hepburn singing "Moon River" on Breakfast at Tiffany's. 

I had to know more about her. Over the next few weeks I researched who she was. I rented all her movies from Roman Holiday to Sabrina. I couldn't believe how beautiful she looked even when she was older in Always. My favourites were Funny Face and My Fair Lady.

To me, Audrey is an icon from an earlier, more romantic time.
